Our only son suffers every day! The disease takes everything away from him... Filipek is not developing like other children. The bumps in his tiny head cause constant epileptic seizures, and there's nothing we can do! We beg for help! We need to help him as soon as possible!
For several years, our life has been a constant fight for the health of our child. We were so happy to become parents... The pregnancy was normal, but in the 37th week everything changed... During the ultrasound examination, the doctor noticed polycystic kidney disease in my son!
We were terrified. And the worst was yet to come. Immediately after birth, Filipek was found to have a tumor on his heart. We ended up in the cardiology ward. It's hard to describe in words how scared we were... Tests have shown many changes that have given suspicion of a disease we have never heard of before – tuberous sclerosis.
We ended up in a specialist hospital in Warsaw. An MRI was performed on the spot. When we received the results, we felt faint... Multiple tumors were detected in our son's head! Thus, the diagnosis of tuberous sclerosis was confirmed...
We regularly go to Warsaw to monitor our kidneys. Polycystic disease is the cause of hypertension. But this is not the end of our worries... There are so many tumors in Filipek's head that doctors are not able to count them. At each visit, we find out that they are getting bigger... Their number and size caused epilepsy. Every day we face many attacks that prevent our child from developing!
We've tried everything... We have been on a ketogenic diet and medication for 2 years, but the attacks do not go away! We are exhausted and helpless... Our everyday life is a constant struggle. Filipek does not speak, he does not communicate with us. When he was diagnosed with autism, we couldn't believe it. It is hard for us to accept that all this has happened to our child.
What breaks us down the most is the fact that the treatment used does not work. We were told to go to a clinic in Germany. We sent our son's medical records and received confirmation – we can come. However, the cost estimate for diagnostics is over 50 thousand euros! We will not collect such an amount on our own...
My son is already 3 years old, but caring for him is not much different from caring for a baby. Every 3 hours we give him dared meals, we can't communicate with him in any way... Going to Germany gives us hope. We believe that in-depth diagnostics will give an answer to what is the cause of Filipek's attacks. We have to grasp at all available methods. We beg you to help us fight for our son!
